A Message from Jonathan D. Krane
When I dedicated the last four years of my professional life to writing the
first comprehensive textbook on the film industry, my ultimate dream was to
create a real film industry in Florida, one where producers know everything
about producing films, from finding or creating the idea, to developing the
script, packaging the director and stars, financing the film and all aspects of
physical production.
This new film school will teach aspiring professionals “The New Art and Science
of Filmmaking”. Not just another film school, but a truly unique educational
and experiential opportunity. One whose graduates, upon completion, will really
possess the necessary knowledge and experience to enter the film profession –
and who will have actually begun their careers in the profession while making a
feature film with me. That goal will be achieved with this first “premiere”
class of the Krane Academy. It is a special opportunity.
I want to express my sincerest excitement and appreciation to all students of
the Academy and look forward to working with each student on a personal level
as we each make our dreams into reality.
